Practically brothers :p. Belgium, Netherlands, and most of northern France all used to be part of Zeventien Provinciën awhile ago. In my dad's native city, Douai (Dowaai in Dutch), we still have separatists that want to be part of Belgium and the Netherlands (Low Countries unity), and want to speak Dutch. My dad jokes that his family and most of northern France are more Belgian than French. Our culture still is pretty Flemish, too. Not just neighbors. Practically brothers :p.
